When a woman lactates, does the milk come out of one hole, or many little ones?

I was always under the assumption that the whole tip of the nipple could give off milk. My fiance, who has lived on a dairy farm his whole life assumed that milk came out of one hole just like a cow.

I’ve tried finding a website on how a woman produces milk but I can’t find any. Please help!

I ALWAYS thought that it came out of one big hole. That is until the day I was pumping after my son was born and saw milk coming out of like 10 different holes! it totally freaked me out, but I understand why. The baby gets more with all the little holes as apposed to one big one (which would look kind strange and you probably would constantly be leaking and draining) AND I noticed tha if I pressed on different parts of my breasts more milk would come out of different holes. So each hole is connected to a sac in your breast filled with milk.
And, tell your fiance a women is NOT the same thing as a cow, lactating or not. There is no argument here.
