Lessons/Golf Team?

I am asking this question for my cousin cause she doesn’t have a Yahoo ID. She took lessons last fall and this spring but stopped in June due to traveling. She didn’t really practice as much as she should have. She wanted to try out for the high school team since I am on it & she likes golf. Her instructor thinks she doesn’t want to play because she didn’t practice. She is regretting not practicing now and she didn’t come to try outs and she wants to start playing again. She doesn’t know how to start again as far as lessons or no lessons - how to tell her instructor. She just wanted other golfers opinions. Thanks
I forgot to mention this up there… she has everything she needs.. she has cleveland irons, callaway driver and putter etc. She just doesn’t know how to start again. Oh and her lessons were free cause her dad was good friends with the pro who was giving them.
To put this easier — if you are a golfer, what would you do?
How would you tell the instructor?
She didn’t stop taking the lessons on purpose. We had a week long family reunion in SC. Then our grandma died so she was out of town for a while. Then she went to a golf camp with me (that was the actual last time she played this summer). Then she we went to florida for my brothers wedding. Then she didn’t go to try outs and now we are in school.
