For sure, the teacher can help you with some fundamentals. If you just want to play golf.... few things that very important to learn from your teacher.. for sure they wil theach you about this: 1. grip, good golf swing begin in good grip... 2. good setup and balance.. Without good setup and balance, it seem not posible to swing your club naturally... 3. swing plane, make your swing as simple as posible... Too many people too much worry about swing plane... as beginner... as long as you fell balance on setup, on top of your back swing and on finish... then you can start practice hit the ball. 4. solid ball impact... this is what you need to practice alot... to have good impact... there are no short cut to have good contact... need time and practice... more you practice faster you can hit solid. After you can hit solid... then there are many things you have to learn to improve your game... but with solid ball contact, you can start play the game and enjoy the game.
