What is a driving iron in golf? Is it equivalent to one of the longer irons in a standard set?

electric_phase asked:

I’ve seen a “driving iron” for sale and was wondering what it is exactly (I’m new to golf and have been playing about 6 months). Is it equivalent to a hybrid iron that replaces one of the 3 or 4 irons for example?

What type of golf bag would you suggest for a petite lady?

wkl asked:

My mother would like to learn to play golf, and a family friend gave her a set of barely used clubs, so for Christmas she would like a golf bag.
I was just taking a look at them online and I wasn’t aware there are several types of bags..I know nothing about golf. I see there are carry bags and cart bags etc so what would be best for a 5′2″ 105 pound lady just learning the sport?

scottizzzo asked:

Overall, disc golf is a cheap sport since most courses are free, but the actual discs are not so cheap! Usually $13-17 bucks at my local sports stores. Besides eBay, can anyone recommend the cheapest online store they know of? Thanks!

What are the best golf related websites?

Do you know of any good online magazines, community / social media websites around golf? I know there is a lot of excellent printed media out there but I’d be curious what do you golf fans and players read on the internet? I found Golf Digest as an authority website but I’m sure there’s more… Please post your favorite site.

How do i become a club pro at a local golf course?

January 2nd, 2012 | Posted in golf lessons   Comments Off
asked:

I am 23 and have been playing golf for about 8 years now. I think I have a pretty good grasp of the game and usually shoot in the low 80’s when I play. I have been able to teach many of my friends how to golf respectively and thought it would be awesome to eventually make a career of golf.
How do I go about doing this? I understand that there are schools I could attend. How much do they cost where are they located? I live in Pennsylvania if that helps.

How can you hit a golf ball in a lower trajectory?

December 28th, 2011 | Posted in golf lessons   Comments Off

Peter K asked:

I am a 5-10 Handicap and play often, a problem I have is that I hit it very high with my irons and wedges. This problem does not apply to my driver or woods. With my irons, I already put the ball back in my stance, I use a 3/4 swing, I swing it softer instead of killing it and I shift my weight forward properly but I still hit it high. I know the wedges short irons are supposed to go high but when I go to the driving range, I hit it a lot higher compared to other people with their irons and wedges. As some of you may know, hitting it too high may be very devastating and kill distance especially if the wind is against you. I have no problem with ball contact and I already hit it straight. Could my problem be because of shaft, club, my height or something else? I am 5′7 and I use Nike Slingshots, Stiff Flex and the clubs are standard length. If not what other things can I do to hit it lower. I would like an answer that could be a solution before I go spend money on a lesson with a PGA Pro
